Wow how time flies! Bariatric Beginnings, my blog and my therapy, turned one year old today! Starting this blog has been the best decision I have ever made. It has seen me through good times and bad times, and hopefully through many more good times!

When I started this blog it was a way to voice my feelings in addition to voicing my feelings at my counseling sessions. My psychologist says starting this blog was the best thing I ever did. When I started Bariatric Beginnings I had just made (or had) my big emotional change. I actually started the blog to go along with a “challenge” that my personal trainer at the time had given me. My weight has been up and down since then. But I am still 20-25 pounds lower now than when I started this blog a year ago. As I begin on my second year of blogging I see now end in sight as I am working towards having gastric bypass. Some people don’t understand why I am having a second surgery, but it was always a consideration since it the beginning I was too large for bypass and had the sleeve to get to an acceptable weight and off many of my psych. medications, which I have accomplished at two years out from the sleeve. I can only go up in life from the next surgery and down in weight from the next surgery! This first surgery and this blog have changed my life in so many ways and now I am ready to help others reach their goals!

This blog has been viewed 41,995 times! I have written 297 posts, today making the 298th post. My blog made Freshly Pressed on April 3, 2012 bring in over 5,000 views that day alone. Tomorrow will mark the first online weight loss surgery support chat held by this blog. I am excited for tomorrow evening, I have had plenty of people who said that they will be there.
